With us still only allowed to day fish it was proving tricky for me to snag a bite.

I decided to try a different lake, I had never fished it before so I spoke to the lake owner to see what the usual tactics were.

Armed with some info I set up and cast out tight to the far margin, clipped up and put two rods on a spot. I didn’t want to disturb my swim so recasting wasn’t an option, luckily my Wolf X3K rods cast like a dream and once set they were left alone 

After applying bait little and often I managed to get the fish feeding, finally I was rewarded for my efforts, and after a short fight a gorgeous Common graced my net.
