I spent 3 months in lockdown and was scratching at the walls.

But finally we were let out on the banks again, I arrived at my club lake and fished for 2 nights, I decided to go on the left of a double swim and got set up.

I made up a couple of D-rigs with animal snowman bait on the hook from Retro baits with a 4 bait stringer, then cast out and settled down for the session.

Soon I was in bed and giddy so I couldn’t sleep then starting at midnight I received a vicious take and it didn’t stop there, I ended up with 8 runs and 6 on the bank.

All with the help of the Wolf Qi Icon alarms and X-Series X3K 3.50lb test curve rods, with fishing to snags my rods were more than up to the job keeping the Carp from snagging up. 

The best of which was a 22lb Common and what a welcome back to the lake.
